The aviation sector is experiencing a strong growth in business since 2010.
Some figures: current fleet of 10,000 aircraft will double by 2020.
At the European level, ACARE (Advisory Council for Aeronautics The Research in Europe) has defined the major evolutions in air transportation which are based on the five following goals:
- a strong customer focus.
- a sharp decrease in development time.
- cost optimization.
- three environmental commitments: -50% of CO2 emission, -80%,of NOx, and -50% of noise.
- ensuring passengers safety.
In France, SPACE is an association founded in 2008, whose purpose is to improve collaboration between Aircraft constructors, 1rst Tiers and SMEs in different areas: supply chain, quality, improved interfaces and small contractors.
Executive members of SPACE are: EADS, LIEBHER, DASSAULT, EATON, RATIER-Figeac, Hamilton Sundstrand, ZODIAC, AIRBUS, THALES, SAFRAN, MOOG.
In 2010, four of Team Auto Consulting consultants have been approved by SPACE. They will start working with clusters of small aerospace companies designated by a prime contractor by the end of the first half of 2011.
