Graduated in France from ENS des Arts & Métiers with a Master’s Degree in Engineering, from HEC – ISA with a MBA and from IEP of Paris with a post grad certificate in sociology of organizations, Gérard GLEVAREC has a 30-years career, mainly in the automotive industry.
He started working within RENAULT and implemented the Lean Manufacturing practice in the workshops, but also participated in the launch of a new vehicle. Then, he held various positions as Financial Controller at VALEO, Industrial and Technical Director at SORMEL (MATRA Group) an expert company in automated assembly lines, General Manager for the subsidiary of a US equipment supplier Standard Products, worldwide leader of car body sealing, General Manager of COFIMETA, number 2 in France for stamping and tool making, VP of a Division at SEGULA engineering group (maintenance, robotics, metrology, piping…).
After being a Managing Consultant at CAP GEMINI ERNST & YOUNG, he became an independent consultant and joined TEAM AUTO CONSULTING.
Gérard participates in projects with the French Automotive Industry Platform and with FIEV (the French Vehicle Equipment Industry Organization).
During his career, Gérard has been responsible for turning business units into profitable activities and for defining or reshaping their positioning strategy.
One of his distinctive features is the variety of issues (putting activities right, getting out of business hold, acquiring competitors, coming into car manufacturers’ supplier list…), of managerial environments (family-owned companies or not, French shareholding or not) and of technical activities (serial production, unitary, engineering ; all this in mechanics and rubber industries).
People management has been developed as a transversal know-how, to enhance people’s ability to support the company project.
Gérard’s consulting offer covers two main topics:
Consulting in strategy and operating effectiveness improvement : he has been a consultant for European groups and SMEs from various activities and industries, mainly in the automotive industry. He is connected to more than 300 SMEs, groups and has regular follow-up with Company Managers about their major issues.
Support systems engineering: building and operating a collective action to support industrial players, creating a regional association for the automotive industry (ARIA).
