Thierry HOIJTINK is a graduate of ESCP and holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Sciences.

He practiced commercial functions – Sales, Marketing and Procurement – in the world of materials and of their transformation in particular at RHONE-POULENC (silicones), SEALY (latex foams), SOCOMOR (surface treatments) and PPG INDUSTRIES (coatings).

At PPG INDUSTRIES, he manages the Renault key-account then supports the manufacturer's industrial expansion in Brazil (1996-2000). Project Director, he leads a team of 6 in Curitiba, supplemented by 80 experts. The experience is new to everyone: waterborne coatings, total management concept and payment per vehicle. The success of the project leads Renault to award PPG the Curitiba Site #2.

At PPG Europe Corporate Purchasing (2000-2005), he successfully applies the Renault suppliers management model : costs analysis, shared productivity, suppliers performance evaluation, logistic schemas...

At SEALY (2006-2007), he becomes the Director for Purchasing and Quality, an assignment created to support an outstanding growth jump of the company (+ 45%) on the European market.

In 2008, he creates the French branch of FLEEWINTER Ltd (an e-commerce company) and SYNVESTA s.a.s. (an intermediation company between Europe and Saudi Arabia). In 2009, he joins TEAM AUTO CONSULTING as Associate Partner.

His expertise covers three areas:

1 – PURCHASING

SEALY : Cost reduction : - 4,8% (2006) – Suppliers panels rationalization : - 40% in chemicals, textiles, finished products – Purchasing risk reduction : alternative sourcings, back-up plans

PPG INDUSTRIES : 2 M€ savings (y.b.) on the resins & monomers products families (145M€), on non indiced contracts – Implementation of “best practices“ and suppliers performance evaluation system – Leader in implementing VMIs (Vendor owned Managed Inventories) : 50% of the purchased value – Development of the “$AVE“ concept of shared productivity : 80% of the suppliers joined the program

PPG do BRASIL : Selection of Tier-2 suppliers (RMs & General Purchasing) : sealants, coatings, maintenance, energy (10M€)

2 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT

PPG INDUSTRIES : managed the technical project core-team completed with 80 internal experts , set up the local support team (30 PPG + 50 subcontracted employees) – First successful experience in water-borne base-coats application in extreme climatic conditions and "cost per unit" invoicing : PPG awarded best supplier to Renault Brazil and Renault Group – Tendered an identical project for "Curitiba 2" site and obtained business award (75 M€)

3 – MARKETING

PPG INDUSTRIES : negotiated a cost breakdown program on coatings with Renault and protected the margin level

SOCOMOR : created a sales team, set up commercial partnerships

RHONE-POULENC (RTV-2 elastomers): redeployed the commercial activity, developed a distribution network in the UK, multiplied turnover by 2,5 in 5 years, increased sales in SE Asia (from 5 to 20% of global turnover) and in Brasil, received "Oscar de l'emballage" (packaging award) in 1988 , developed cultural sponsorship
